Review Policy

If you’re interested in sending me a review copy or recommendation of a book, drama series and movies, I’m happy to hear from you. Email me at  shanatalks[at]gmail[dot]com.

How I review:
1.) I do not guarantee a review of a book, drama series and movies recommended or with copies sent. I am only agreeing to consider it for review.
2.) I am not promising anyone a positive review in exchange for a review copy. That’s not the way I work.
3.) My reviews are my opinions and yes, they are subjective. My blog will feature both negative and positive reviews. There may be spoilers but I always make sure it’s essential for the review before I include them.
4.) In all of my reviews I vie for honesty. It’s fair and based on my reading or viewing experience.

Because of work and real life whatnot, it can be a struggle to balance my reading and viewing schedule. You should NOT expect a review a day on my blog.

        • The reviews include the book cover, official promotion posters of movies/series and the summary from the book itself and the movie/series (usually taken from Goodreads and IMDB).

I’m not accepting review request as of the moment. Life takes precedence. I’ll let you guys know once I’m accepting review requests. Thank you for understanding!

What do I read?

The plot, most of the time, would initially ignite my bookworm blood but strong, well-written, fleshed-out, human characters would sustain my interest in finishing the book. In addition to a catchy plot, I have to love or simply care for the characters too. That being said, compelling storytelling is something that I immensely enjoy. I love to become absorbed with what I’m reading.

I love Romance. I always go for books with happy endings. I would still occasionally enjoy love stories that doesn’t end the way I want it to be given that the story was well written and the writer caught my dramatic self.

I like novels that makes me emotional. I don’t just read Young Adult Novels, I go beyond that. Though I’m forever young at heart I still take pleasure in reading Adult Novels.

Variety of Genre’s I read includes: (Young Adult/New Adult/Adult)
– Contemporary/Realistic Fiction
– Romance
– Fantasy
– Science Fiction (not really a die-hard of this)
– Supernatural/Paranormal
– Chick Lit
– Dystopian (sometimes)
– Historical Romance (on occasion)

What do I watch?

I’m a hopeless romantic. My movie and drama choices were often driven by my penchant for love stories and/or romance. Though I still watch movies or dramas that has no element of romance or love story. As long as the plot, the trailer and the actors are catchy, I watch them.

Variety of Genre’s I watch includes:
– Contemporary/Realistic Fiction
– Romance
– Comedy
– Fantasy
– Science Fiction
– Supernatural/Paranormal
– Historical
– Melodrama

My Ratings

Before anything else, let me make a disclaimer: (1) I’m not a professional blogger. (2) I’m not an expert reviewer. (3) I’m not an experienced book, movie, and drama series critic. But since I’m OC (obsessive-compulsive) in a lot of things and I want everything organized, I’m creating my own rating system for the reviews I make.

Overall, in rating a book, scanlated manga, movie, drama/anime series, I always consider it’s content (plot, story flow, character).

Five Kiss Marks

Fantabulous: I can’t stop talking about it!

Four Kiss Marks:

Amazing: I’m mesmerized.

Three Kiss Marks:

Mediocre: I can tolerate it but I want more!

Two Kiss Marks:

Bad: Read or watched but I’m not impressed.

One Kiss Mark:

No-No: It’s not worth of my time.

Tagline:

If I like a line/s from the book, movie or series, I’d definitely share it would you!

Additional Rating:

Aside from my over all rating, I have added areas of the things I rate for Drama Series and Movies.

Acting: Movie and Drama Series

No matter how catchy the plot of a movie or a drama series is, the acting will always play an integral part in a movie’s success (for me).

5 Drama Awards – Superb! I’m speechless!

4 Drama Awards – Worthy of my praise.

3 Drama Awards – Acceptable but not eye catchy.

2 Drama Awards – Shallow.

1 Drama Award – S.O.S Drama School!
